Research on brain injury

Brain Injury Biomechanics - The starting point for understanding of the TBI pathophysiology. The stereotactical phenomena - supported by previously reported results.

Brain Trauma Research Center - Providing clinical management, research and treatment for traumatic brain and spinal injuries.

Carolinas Traumatic Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Research System - Information on research and clinical care for families and survivors of traumatic brain injury.

Central Nervous System Injury Laboratory - Research probing the cellular and molecular events that contribute to the physiological, behavioral, neurologic, and histologic damage associated with TBIs. The goal is to develop new, more effective therapies to treat brain injury patients.

Head Injury Center - Conducts research towards discovery and development of new therapies to encourage repair and regeneration of the injured brain.

Margot Anderson Brain Restoration Foundation - Advancing clinical research for the restoration and rehabilitation of brain function after brain injury, spinal cord damage, stroke, paralysis, Alzheimer and Parkinson disease.

Smith Neurotrauma Lab - Information about the current brain trauma research being done at the University of Pennsylvania. Includes the research focus, people, projects, and publications.

Traumatic Brain Injury Model Systems - The National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research funded 17 centers to examine the course of recovery and outcomes following TBI. Each center provides a coordinated system of emergency care, acute management, comprehensive in-patient rehabilitation and long-term interdisciplinary follow-up services.

The Traumatic Brain Injury National Data Center (TBINDC) - Coordinating research and dissemination efforts of the TBI Model Systems program funded by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR). Seventeen centers conduct research and provide "model" care to persons who experience traumatic brain injury. Offers a searchable registry of projects, publications, and researchers. Located at the Kessler Medical Rehabilitation Research and Education Center.

UAB Injury Control Research Center - Rehabilitation following traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, severe burn or intra-articular fracture. Research in biomechanics, prevention and acute care. Located in Birmingham, Alabama.
